About

‘Frankland & Sons’ is a new show created by three generations of the same family about parents, children and falling in love.

This site has been created to to contain memories and stories left by the audiences who see our show. After each performance we will upload the memories and you will be able to read them in the timeline or search the tags to the right of the screen to read memories by year or by the performance date.

If you would like to submit a memory for our archive but were unable to leave it in person, please email it to: franklandandsons@gmail.com

Created and performed by double Fringe First award winner Tom Frankland and his dad, John Frankland, and directed by Fringe First award winner Jamie Wood, ‘Frankland & Sons’ maps a true story of fathers and sons onto the events of the last 100 years. Drawing on Tom & John’s Pythonesque sense of humour, the show is playful, moving and surprising; a tale of love won, love lost, and wholly inappropriate girlfriends.

“Like all the best true stories, there’s a totally sensational plot twist near the end which had us literally gasping with amazement”. Chris Goode

  2. ‘More than kisses, letters mingle souls,’ wrote John Donne to a friend. How right he was. Your clever sketch was a sure confirmation of this in my mind. I felt an integral part of whole unique production. It had everything: brilliant comedy, pathos, and every other deep emotion. It was unforgettable and should be produced in the West End. It was both hilarious and, paradoxically, extremely sad. Congratulations!

(Please understand, I’m not given to flattering folk. Just ask my wife!)
